This week is already annoying. Car trouble. FedEx issues. Email mishaps. My to-do list keeps growing instead of shrinking. Sometimes the annoying stuff scares me as much as the big stuff. Somehow, I can gear up for cancer and death and mayhem. I've seen God work in and through disaster but all these tiny set backs make me think "does God care about the little stuff?"
It boils down to fear. Does God care? Does He love me? Can He help? At their root - those are all fear questions. This is why the most frequent command in Scripture is "DO NOT BE AFRAID"
God is with us. Big stuff. Scary stuff. Cancer. Parking tickets. He's with us.

COUNTRY OF THE WEEK: Brunei
The Sultanate of Brunei's influence peaked between the 15th and 17th centuries when its control extended over coastal areas of northwest Borneo and the southern Philippines. Brunei subsequently entered a period of decline brought on by internal strife over royal succession, colonial expansion of European powers, and piracy. In 1888, Brunei became a British protectorate; independence was achieved in 1984. The same family has ruled Brunei for over six centuries. Brunei benefits from extensive petroleum and natural gas fields, the source of one of the highest per capita GDPs in the world. (CIA World Factbook)
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Pray for salvation of the royal family, that they would lead their nation to righteousness.
- Pray for creative and bold witness to the Muslim majority.
- Pray for spiritual maturity and Biblical training for lay persons leading the underground Church.
- Pray for the Uttermost workers in the field.
- Pray for the US office.
