To see followers of Jesus living in restricted-access contexts, reaching the unreached with the Gospel.
To create and sustain opportunities for Sending Organizations and churches to place workers in restricted-access contexts.
Sport is a universal 'language' spoken by every people group on the face of the earth! Sport powerfully brings nations together and crosses cultural, social, religious, and economic lines -- like nothing else can. It is often a "first step" activity to establishing relationships in an area where little or no Christian work exists, providing a platform to speak truth into people's lives.
Uttermost Sports is a sports-business missions platform that works with churches and missions organizations to send intentional followers of Jesus to represent Him in restricted-access locations. We do this by facilitating short-term and long-term opportunities for coaches, athletes, and a variety of people with a background in sports to live and work among unreached people groups in areas of the world that are resistant or hostile to traditional missionary efforts.
Our exclusive focus is on Unreached People Groups (UPGs) native to restricted-access countries in North Africa, the Middle East, and much of Asia. Out of the 4.75 billion people residing in these regions, 2.91 billion (61.3%) are unreached.
According to the Joshua Project, there are more than 60 countries that restrict or prohibit missionary work. In this group are:
Our goal is to place followers of Christ in these parts of the world—not for 2 weeks, but for decades—using sport to gain access to unreached peoples and engage them with the gospel by building genuine, personal relationships. To ensure our continued ability to place workers in these areas, as well as our workers' ability to operate safely and effectively, we significantly limit the information we post about their specific locations. If you have further questions about the places we work, email info@uttermostsports.org.
