FROM THE DESK OF: the Director of Communications
Welcome to the first edition of our brand new Weekly Office Blog (WOB)! We're excited to offer this fun inside-look at the Uttermost Sports office and share more about what God is doing on our staff and around the world. Our hope is that you will get to know Uttermost Sports and find ways to join us -- whether by praying, going, giving, or advocating. Summer 2014 held A LOT of transition and change for us, so we're glad that's over but also excited to begin implementing some new strategies and initiatives this fall. God is richly blessing our organization, which means there is more to do as we continue to grow!
The WOB will feature content from our directors (Development, Mobilization, Operations, and Partnerships), as well as current prayer requests, a country of focus from the 10/40 Window, and a verse for meditation. Thank you for joining us in the journey!

COUNTRY OF THE WEEK: MALDIVES
Located in the north Indian Ocean, the Maldives is a country of nearly 1200 islands known for beautiful beaches and extreme religious persecution. According to World Watch List, "To be Maldivian is equated with being Muslim, so officially there are no Maldivian Christians, only ex-pat Christians. The government sees itself as the protector of Islam, and the law prohibits conversion to other faiths; those who do so face losing citizenship." Pray for God to do a miraculous work in the Maldives and bring hope to a people lost in darkness.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- several workers in the Middle East are transitioning to new locations this fall
- our office is planning two special events, one in September and one in November
- Annie will be in South Carolina this weekend for First Baptist North Spartanburg's annual Global Impact Celebration
- we continue to ask God to send more workers (and praise Him for new contacts!)
