Is this effort affiliated with any denomination or movement?
No.  Uttermost Sports is not affiliated with any specific denomination. Our roots are Southern Baptist, but we serve cooperatively with Great Commission Christians to reach the Nations and build the body of Christ around the world.

How is the effort funded?
It is an independent, non-profit organization, funded by individuals, churches, organizations, and foundations who wish to support its ongoing efforts.

Is this a worldwide effort?
Yes, Uttermost Sports has a worldwide network to mobilize people and groups from North America, South America, and Europe who are interested in advancing God’s Kingdom and spreading His Renown among the Nations.

What is the goal?
The goal of Uttermost Sports is to reach the Nations for Christ.

Who can be involved?
Uttermost Sports invites all Obedient Followers of Jesus who want to use sports as a means of proclaiming the Gospel; no matter your level of ability or expertise, there is a place for you.

What is the 10/40 Window?
The 10/40 Window is a geographic area of the world that contains the largest population of non-Christians in the world, extending from 10 degrees to 40 degrees North of the equator, and stretches from North Africa across to China.     www.1040window.org
•  Two-thirds of the world’s population (4 Billion) live in the 10/40 Window’s 67 nations.
•  95% of the people are unevangelized.
•  90% of the people are the poorest of the poor, averaging $250 per family annually.
•  43 of the 50 worst countries in the world for persecution of Christians are here.
•  Every major non-Christian religion—Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Animism, and Atheism—was  birthed or is
   headquartered in the 10/40 Window.
•  Illiteracy is widespread.
•  Sad and senseless abuse of women and children remains unchecked.
•  In many of the 67 countries represented in the 10/40 Window, professing the Christian Gospel means death. Truly the 10/40
Window remains the darkest and most inhospitable territory to the cause of Christ and represents the greatest
   remaining stronghold of Satan.
•  Five pennies of every $100 spent on missions goes to this destitute area of the world.
•  It is estimated that 1.6 billion people here have NEVER heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Is there a fee for joining?
There is no membership fee, but participants pay their expenses for mission trips (so do we). Projects include reasonable associated administrative costs.

Frequently "Answered" Questions:
"Taking the Word to the Uttermost Parts of the World Through Sports"
When I support this effort as a sustaining member, where does my donation go?
Donations to Uttermost Sports are directed by an independent, voluntary Board of Directors.  Funds are used to support the staff, ministries, and operations of Uttermost Sports to reach the Nations for Christ.

I am a Southern Baptist.  What is the difference between giving to Uttermost Sports and the Cooperative Program?
Your money will be used to support people who do not receive any Cooperative Program monies.  Uttermost Sports partners with Southern Baptists, but does not receive Cooperative Program money.  The founder of Uttermost Sports is with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board and the relationship is very strong.

I am a Southern Baptist.  Why isn’t Uttermost Sports supported by the International Mission Board (IMB)?
More than half of our field representatives are IMB missionaries, but our Coordinating Staff do not receive financial support from the IMB because we are US based.  We are an IMB partner, and they outsource this sensitive and strategic work to Uttermost Sports.  We coordinate sports strategies and support the work of hundreds of IMB missionaries, but the IMB does not provide funding for Uttermost Sports.  The IMB does not have enough resources to support every organization…GOD DOES.  Only a portion of the IMB budget supports work in restricted access countries in the 10/40 window.  All of our resources are directed toward restricted contexts, and we are honored to be leaders in this ministry.

How big is Uttermost Sports?
We have a small full-time Coordinating Staff, and they are all faith-based.   We curently have almost 50 representatives in over 26 restricted countries (and growing), that came to us with support, either through a mission sending agency or as faith-based missionaries.   As expected, we need more Coordinating Staff with Administrative abilities.  We coordinate many projects annually involving hundreds of sports volunteers.

In how many countries do you work?
We have engaged more than 50 Restricted Access Countries located in the 10/40 Window across North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia to China with strong partnerships and networks.

How are you supported?
As a non-profit Christian Sports Ministry, contributions to Uttermost Sports are tax-exempt.  Most of our support comes from individuals—many of the same individuals who also support us in prayer.  A growing number of churches are including Uttermost Sports in their missions budgets, as they see our effectiveness in taking the Gospel to the Uttermost Parts of the Earth.

Why is it that no one's name is on the site, are you like Christian secret agents?
Actually, we detest the term 'Christian secret agent'.  We don't falsely identify ourselves and sneak around in another country.  We go in holding our head up, offering a service, and blessing the people in the process.  Of course, it would be imprudent to disclose all of our affiliations; the motivation is not deceit, but rather a gradual revelation process according to the measure that the nationals are ready to accept.
"but you WILL RECEIVE POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you SHALL BE MY WITNESSES both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth." - Acts 1:8
