STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

We affirm the Essentiality of Christ and the Centrality of Scripture. We are Conservative, yet Cooperative; Our roots are Southern Baptist; Our Partners include other Great Commission Christian organizations.

OUR STRATEGY

Our main focus is on North Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia, and parts of Europe, where 95% of 3 Billion have little or no access to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  These areas restrict traditional evangelism methods, do not allow residential missionaries, and are often hostile to the gospel. 

For these reasons, we enlist and involve Christian athletes and coaches to take the gospel to these restricted access locations through a sports organization (not mentioned here for obvious security reasons) which is not openly identified as “Missionary” in intent.  Through our “non-religious” sports organization, we are able to provide long-term residential opportunities for Christian athletes and coaches in restricted access countries, which otherwise could not be obtained through a Missionary organization. 

Our work involves extensive partnering with churches, Christian organizations and individuals who provide the teams and sports expertise requested from our front-line sports workers and government sports officials.  Teams and coaches in all sports and all levels are appropriately matched with requests from the field.  All projects are integrated into frontline strategies for long-term effectiveness in church planting movements.  Some examples:  Sports exchange teams, coach placements, and sports development, demonstrations, and instruction, professional placement (signing international pros to contracts in target locations).

Uttermost Sports is comprised of sports missiologists and cross-cultural communicators, who are involved strategically with mission organizations and partnerships who are coordinating the work of all strategies—sports, medicine, education, humanitarian, business, the arts, and others—to engage and share Christ with the lost.

Our partnership is actually an act of obedience.  God has given each of us our respective gifts, strengths, and circles of influence, as well as our common call and desire to reach the unreached in the Uttermost Parts.  Uttermost Sports is field based, strategy driven, and strongly related to sports leaders and organizations all over the world.

WHY SPORTS?

Sports...Because it provides a platform to gain respect and speak Truth into the lives of people from every nation.

Sports is a universal language spoken by every people group on the face of the earth.  It brings nations together and crosses cultural, social, religious, and economic lines like nothing else on earth.  It is often a ‘first-step’ activity to establish relationships with a country or area where little or no Christian work exists. 

Sports has proven effective in bringing the lost to Jesus Christ. We are seeing the Lord do many mighty works, as people in restricted access countries are giving their lives to Christ through Sports Evangelism.  In one city alone, one of our sports workers has seen 120 people come to Christ and several churches planted and mulitplied.  Many of these believers are being prepared to be sent out to other countries to plant churches.
